Abu Dhabi Ports is leading the way towards a bold new autonomous era and is reimagining the future of maritime services with our planned fully unmanned autonomous commercial tugboats. By shifting the human element from on-board to on-shore, the vessels will represent a generational leap in terms of maritime vessel design and operational performance, and will offer significant advantages, including: ability to operate in far more adverse weather conditions; increased efficiency; enhanced operational safety; and, greater cost savings. Once developed, the tugs will join SAFEEN, Abu Dhabi Ports’ maritime service arm.
